The Honeywell 8690i's customisable user interface displays all necessary instructions and menu navigation and selection confirmation is straightforward via two buttons. The portable mini mobile computer connects directly to the network application via Wi-Fi and the SDK, and thanks to the development of TotalFreedom™ plug-ins, many functions are also available offline. When common tasks such as picking, packing and sorting can be performed with a single device, this is not only very ergonomic, but the Honeywell 8690i also scores over scanner solutions with two separate devices with lower acquisition and operating costs. Fast product and position recognition via RFID can reduce the number of steps in a typical high-frequency workflow transaction by up to 66% compared to handheld barcode scanner systems, significantly increasing productivity and throughput.

Thanks to various configuration options, the Honeywell 8690i can be optimally customised to the respective application. The device is available as a two-finger ring version or as a back-of-hand installation on a glove (and can be easily converted on site at any time) and therefore fulfils all requirements in terms of ergonomics and a smooth workflow. The chargers available for the devices or batteries with 4 or 12 charging slots also offer uncomplicated charging options in working environments with high throughputs or workflows that are distributed over a wide area.
